vCenter 6.5 create scheduled tasks – Automatic Reboot 

In 6.5, go to Monitor->Tasks & Events -> Scheduled Tasks->Schedule a new task

In 6.0, it is under the Manage tab.

Reset – it’s like pressing reset power Button on a physical system. Hard restart of the system, don’t wait for Guest OS to complete shutdown process.

Restart Guest OS – it’s like restarting System within Guest OS, which will follow system restart process, like closing all apps, process and restart OS. if you want to reboot using vSphere client option then VM tools needs to be running in Guest OS.
